Dear Namibia,

I was starting to get really curious about those coke pinkies. Because like 90% of your population has them and I’m pretty sure my learners can’t afford a coke habit. So I was getting ready to ask a fellow colleague what the dealy-o with the long pinky nail was.

Thank GOD I didn’t because I just found out yesterday from a volunteer that it’s used to scrape wax out of the ears. I don’t think I could have hidden my look of absolute disgust from the teacher if I had asked. And that may have been construed as sliiiightly rude.

That was a close call for sure,
